Bronze Fallen Firefighter Statue

Senior Class Athletes Legacy

This is a wonderful opportunity for the senior class athletes from the various teams with the incentive of which team can raise the most money by doing a fund-raiser to honor their firefighters by donating a lasting legacy gift of an incredibly detailed museum-quality bronze and marble statue measuring 9″ x 9″ x 16″ H and weighing a hefty 30 pounds.

“The school logo, firehouse shield and the messages “Donated by your schools name” appears on the statue.”

This is a great feel-good story, the media is always interested in covering it, and the exposure will make the fund-raising easy. We handle everything by working with the fire chief, media, class advisor, and students. This is a terrific credit for the students to add to their resumes.

Fund-Raiser Examples

Car Wash: This fundraiser is sure to make a splash in your community. Set up a car wash in the high school parking lot or partner with a local business and have students take shifts cleaning cars. If you have an online donation page set up, you can accept card payments and text-to-give in addition to cash.

Dog Wash: Nobody wants to wash their own smelly pup, and groomers can get so expensive! Offer a more affordable solution with a dog wash fundraiser. Encourage students, parents, teachers, and community members to bring their furry friends to be bathed by student volunteers for a reasonable price.

Restaurant Fundraiser: Partner with a local restaurant that is willing to host your fundraiser for an evening and contribute a portion of their sales back to your school. Chick-fil-A and Chipotle are popular chains that host these events, or you can choose a local favorite. Make it a spirit night by asking students and parents to come all dressed in their school garb— and remind diners to mention your fundraiser at the register!

Coin Jar: For this fundraiser, you’ll want to partner with local businesses that agree to keep a small jar at the registers. The jar should be visually appealing and include a quick background describing who and what these donations are for. You might be surprised at the number of people willing to drop loose change in your jar.

Free fund-raiser kit: We can also provide our free fund-raiser kit, which gives students the tools and guidance needed to raise the $2500 by asking for donations from the business community. The kit includes a self-explanatory brochure, a picture of the statue, and a personalized student ID badge with the fire department logo.

The first school to join the program is Dothan High School in Dothan, Alabama. The reaction from the Dothan Fire Department is overwhelming. Chief Williams says, “What a wonderful honor for the DFD! Looks great! Thanks to everyone involved.”
